Khabarovsk, 20 November 2025 – X5 (“X5”, MOEX: X5), a leading Russian food retailer, announces the opening of its first distribution centre (DC) in the Russian Far East. The new logistics hub, located in the Rakitnoye village, Khabarovsk Territory, will supply more than 650 stores of X5’s Pyaterochka proximity store chain across the Khabarovsk and Primorye Territories, Amur Region and Jewish Autonomous Region, with plans to expand coverage to other Far Eastern regions in the future.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dmitry Demeshin, Khabarovsk Territory Governor; Sergey Abramov, First Deputy Chairman of the Khabarovsk Territory Government; Vladislav Kurbatov, Managing Director of Pyaterochka; and Anton Bezryadin, Executive Director of Pyaterochka’s Far East territory division.
Covering a total area of 50,000 sq m, the DC has become the first multi-temperature logistics facility in the Far East. It houses locations for fruit ripening and partial secondary raw material processing, as well as a logistics service hub for 5Post. The facility has a daily throughput capacity of 280,000 boxes and 45,000 pallets, enabling it to process up to 75,000 tonnes of products per month, with its seamless operation supported by more than 400 employees and some 45 vehicles.
“The launch of our own logistics hub in the Far East marks a significant milestone in our regional development and reinforces our standing in the area. First and foremost, this centre will support trade development across the federal district, establish more efficient food logistics and enhance food security. Additionally, by having our own infrastructure and using our own fleet of vehicles for deliveries, we will reduce our reliance on manufacturers’ logistics capabilities and ensure the consistent availability of chilled products and items with short shelf lives – even in remote towns and settlements,” said Vladislav Kurbatov, Managing Director of Pyaterochka.
As a resident of an advanced special economic zone (ASEZ) in the Russian Federation, Х5 is eligible for tax benefits, administrative support and comprehensive assistance from the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEADC).
In 2022, X5 signed a cooperation agreement with FEADC to expand its operations into the Far Eastern Federal District. Today, the Company operates over 400 Pyaterochka stores across the Primorye, Trans-Baikal and Khabarovsk Territories, as well as the Jewish Autonomous Region, Amur Region, and the Republics of Buryatia and Sakha (Yakutia).
