Togliatti, 28 February 2018 – X5 Retail Group ("X5" or the "Company"), a leading Russian food retailer (LSE and MOEX ticker: FIVE), announces the opening of its 12,500th store. The landmark store is a Perekrestok supermarket located at 4V Sportivnaya Street, Togliatti, Samara region.
Boasting a total area of more than 1,600 sq m, the store is fully in line with the current Perekrestok concept already implemented at more than 73% of supermarkets as of 31 December 2017. There are 14 checkout lanes for a smooth shopping experience.
The store offers 12,000 SKUs, more than a quarter of which are produced locally. In 2017, 18 new Samara Region producers signed supply agreements with X5 Retail Group. Russian produce accounts for more than 90% of the current product mix of Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Karusel.
The new supermarket helped create over 52 new jobs, and brings the number of Perekrestok supermarkets in the Samara region to 26, with more than 1,000 employees. X5 Retail Group is also represented in the region by more than 450 Pyaterochka stores and five Karusel hypermarkets.
