Moscow, 4 March 2026 – X5 (MOEX: X5), a leading Russian food retailer, ended 2025 as the country’s top player in e-grocery, encompassing food and everyday essentials. The Company demonstrated strong growth and operational resilience throughout the year. Its e-grocery GMV1 reached RUB 323.7 billion, capturing an 18.6% share of the market, according to INFOline.
X5’s digital business became a key growth driver for the Company in 2025, fuelled by the continuous expansion of its own express delivery channels, technology platform, and geographic footprint. The Company handled high order volumes efficiently while maintaining strong operational stability. It also continued to build out its dark store network across major cities. As one of its key technological milestones, X5 launched Russia’s first robotic dark store – a pilot facility where 70% of operations are automated.
“X5’s leadership in e-grocery in 2025 reflects years of sustained, long-term effort. Throughout the year, we steadily scaled our digital business while improving operational efficiency, strengthening our technology platform, and enhancing the customer experience. We are focused on sustainable growth with disciplined unit economics per order, developing our own logistics infrastructure, and deploying technology that keeps service levels high – even during peak demand. This approach gives us a solid base for further growth that solidifies X5’s position as the e-grocery market leader,” said Sergey Pankov, Managing Director of X5 Digital. By year-end 2025, express delivery was available from 9,544 X5 stores across 75 Russian regions, including 7,315 Pyaterochka proximity stores, 909 Perekrestok supermarkets, and 1,320 Chizhik hard discounters.
