Moscow, 20 March 2026 – 5Post, a multiformat logistics service provider and a subsidiary of X5, announces the opening of its own logistics centre with an area of 24,500 sqm and equipped with a high-tech sorting line. The facility has an initial processing capacity of 20,000 parcels per hour, with plans to ramp this number up to 60,000 parcels per hour by 2029 using a three-tier sorting belt.
The new hub is located in the village of Bobrovo, Moscow Region, just 9 km from the Moscow Ring Road. It employs innovative parcel processing and distribution technologies, in addition to being fitted with an automated sorting facility and a conveyor system with scalable sorting tiers.
The automated parcel sorting and separation system features three-dimensional scanning technology using 3D singulators, as well as six-sided barcode scanning. This enables the efficient processing of parcels of various sizes, formats and packaging types, ensuring high sorting speed and accuracy.
By fully automating warehouse processes, 5Post minimises operator involvement and eliminates the need for manual parcel handling. After parcels are sorted, they are either handed over directly to couriers or routed into the logistics network for further delivery to their final destination. The internal movement of cargo is also highly automated: AGV robots are used to transport palletised cargo, which is then turned over by automated pallet inverters.
“The opening of our own logistics centre is a major strategic milestone for 5Post, one that will significantly boost the efficiency of all our logistics processes and enable us to scale up volumes across all our services – from fulfilment to courier delivery. By leveraging automation and new equipment, we will also enhance control over warehouse operations and cut operating costs, which means we can offer our partners a product of the highest possible quality. Delivering such a large-scale project and introducing innovations and cutting-edge technologies are part of the company’s long-term strategy, which is focused on sustainable growth and market leadership,” said Vitaly Dyrdasov, 5Post Managing Director.
“The launch of 5Post’s flagship Moscow-Bobrovo sorting centre in the village of Bobrovo was a landmark project for us. Across 25,000 sqm, we have created modern, open-plan warehouse spaces and comfortable staff areas, equipping the facility with advanced engineering systems. We paid special attention to the heart of the distribution centre – its high-tech sorting facility. Given its significant power requirements, we designed and installed heavy-duty cable lines with a cross-section of over 150 sq mm to ensure the seamless operation of this advanced technological equipment,” commented Andrey Tarashkevich, Director of the Reconstruction Department at X5 Real Estate.
The sorting centre is equipped with 24 loading bays for heavy vehicles, including specialised bays with ramps for couriers using light commercial vehicles. Parcels are loaded and unloaded using telescopic conveyors that extend directly into the vehicle bodies, enabling cargo to be fed straight onto the sorting line and boosting throughput.
The Bobrovo logistics hub also features a modern fulfilment warehouse for e-commerce businesses. It offers the full cycle of warehouse operations, including goods receipt, secure storage, order picking and packing, followed by handover to 5Post for delivery.
The fulfilment area is equipped with storage racks boasting a total capacity of 7,000 pallet spaces and is designed to accommodate large volumes of seller products. The warehouse supports the processing of product batches under both FBO (Fulfilment by Operator) and FBS (Fulfilment by Seller) models.
