X5 Retail Group N.V. (“X5” or the “Company”), Russia’s largest retailer in terms of sales (LSE ticker: “FIVE”), today announced the opening of its first national non-food distribution center (DC). The distribution center is located in the Moscow area and has storage capacity of 23 thousand sq.m.. The DC will service X5’s needs in managing its non-food product categories, which have substantially grown as the Company’s hypermarket count exceeded 50 stores. This specialized DC will help to ensure better availability in non-food product categories, increase efficiency of inventory management and improve non-food purchasing terms.
