Yekaterinburg, 8February 2019 – X5 Retail Group N.V. ("X5" or the "Company"), a leading Russian food retailer (LSE and MOEX ticker: FIVE), announces the opening of its 14,500th store, a Perekrestok supermarket in Yekaterinburg located at 45 Tveritina St.
Boasting selling space of over 1,400 sq m, the milestone store is fully in line with the updated Perekrestok concept, which has already been implemented in more than 86% of the format’s supermarkets. Its product mix consists of 15,000 SKUs, with 52% in the fresh category.
Over 90% of the supermarket’s assortment is made in Russia. Some of the products are provided by local suppliers; X5 started working with 37 new producers based in the Sverdlovsk region in 2018. Locally-produced goods currently account for 30% of sales at Perekrestok stores in Yekaterinburg.
Seven checkout lanes guarantee a smooth shopping experience, keeping queues to a minimum. The new supermarket has generated 45 jobs, bringing the total number of Perekrestok employees in Yekaterinburg to 750. The store is the 19th Perekrestok supermarket in the city.
Along with this launch, the first Perekrestok with 1,600 sq m of selling space was opened in Nizhnevartovsk, offering 15,000 SKUs and creating 65 new jobs in the region.
